Advice needed for integrating our new kittens!! We adopted a 12 week old kitten and then a 1.5 yr old female?

We weren't told she was pregnant (of course) and 7 weeks later she had kittens. This was unexpected...but now they are here we LOVE them and want to keep one or two...trouble is...our 5 month old male thinks they are big mice (they're almost 8 wks old now) and I'm afraid he's going to hurt them. He plays a little rough. I need advice. We have an appt to get him neutered soon....and mama kitty too. I truly love these cats/kittens....they are very loved, spoiled, clean, cared for...and our adoption process for the kitties we don't keep will be similar to the shelter. References, Landlord ok, first shots given, etc. I just want them to be safe with our male...running around the house instead of cooped up in the dining room...for fear he'll hurt them. Thanks!!Advice needed for integrating our new kittens!! We adopted a 12 week old kitten and then a 1.5 yr old female?
This is normal.

Male cats usually always try to hurt the kittens... and eat them. There is a chance they won't always do this, but it's most likely. When they grow older, this will stop, but the male may try to fight if another is a male.

I know how you feel, you can feel guilty for leaving them in one room. Maybe switch places occasionally, or give the male cat to someone to hold for a while. If it is impossible to seperate them, you may have to give the male, or the kittens to a better home/ shelter/ etc.Advice needed for integrating our new kittens!! I think that you should keep the kittens and the male away from each other until the kittens are grown enough. if the male does not stop abusing the kittens then you might have to find a be home=(
