My new kitten is 5 month old...any advice???

General advice?





Make sure she has access to fresh water at all times. Change the water in her water dish every day and refill it whenever it is empty.





Feed her a healthy diet of cat food. There are cat foods on the market specifically designed for kittens. Cats don't usually tend to overeat and you can place the daily amount in the bowl in the morning so she can nibble when it pleases her. If she does happen to gorge herself, you can feed her in increments at meal times.





Keep her litter box clean. Scoopable litter allows you to scoop out tinkles as well as poops.





Watch out for fleas. If she gets them, a flea dip at the vet is the best remedy. Use Frontline Plus to prevent fleas.





Play with her. Cat's can get too fat and she'll need exercise. You can ask your local PetSmart or pet store employees for good cat toys.





If you're so inclined, get a cat condo. Many cats love climing and playing in these.





Get a cat carrier for safe rides in the car (like to the vet). A loose kitty in the car can be dangerous.





Check your local laws or ask your vet about tagging and vaccination regulations.





It is a good idea to get a new kitten checked out at the vet to make sure it is healthy. Pet stores and breeders aren't always as responsible as they should be.





Have her spayed when she is old enough. This decreases the risk of ovarian cancer and unwanted kittens.





Also, be sure she has something to claw at and encourage her to use that instead of your furniture. The kitty condo can be good for that and you can find scratchy toys at your local PetSmart or pet store.My new kitten is 5 month old...any advice???
