Ipod advice...should i buy a new one? what kind?

i have a 30g black video ipod i got in the summer of 2007. recently, it's only been playing music through one ear bud. i checked my earphones, and there's nothing wrong with them. do you know anything to fix this? also, i really like my ipod, much more than the new ones. should i look for one on ebay or craigslist? how much would one cost? would you recommend it? or, if i'm going to get a new ipod, what should i get? i like that my ipod's not too tiny, i like the big screen, but i want a lot of memory for music and i don't really want anything extra. i've never really liked the touch screen, though i know it's got the biggest screen. with the classic, is there a way to format the screen so it looks like the old video?Ipod advice...should i buy a new one? what kind?
For you I would get the ipod classic, it's loaded with space and has a better video screen than the one you have.
