Low fps on new gaming comp >< can any one give friendly advice?:)?

Ok this is my spec...

first of all i have vista 64Bit with a 1900x1200 monitor (ive also tryed it on a 1600x1050)

phenom 2 x4 955 3.2Ghz

4gB of ddr3 ram at around 8-8-8-26

1 x 285 GTX

a 790FX chip set gigabty motherboard.

Now this is my question %26gt;%26lt; I can only get about 40Fps On WoW on max settings, I can get about 30-40fps on max settings on crysis... and today i got Champions online (i know its beta) but im only getting about 30-40fps on recomended/highe settings.. and about 10-20 when im flying around... On spores Fraps is showing my fps at around 39%26gt;%26lt; i know my pc aint the best in the world but i kinda think its above avrage for pc games. Where i have a AMD and a nvidia card.. i cant sli %26gt;%26lt; As amd dont make SLI boards! (with ddr3) :( so i had to just get the one :(.. Now in my opion i should be at leats 60fps on games like wow, spores etc.. Is there something im missing? My graphic card is REALLY hot %26gt;%26lt; like where i cant touch it lol but i havea feeling thats normal %26gt;%26lt; .. can any one offer some friendly advice? .. Ive just upgraded so i dont wana change to intel or 2 new ati cards :/ :( HELP! *cries* lol

P.s the main reason im upset is because the FPS drop and it looks awful %26gt;%26lt; ... I wana get my pc ready for aion lol i thought it was..untill today on champions online %26gt;%26lt;

im starting to wish i got a am3 board with ddr2 ram so i could sli %26gt;%26lt; and use my ddr2 ram.. had 6Gb in my oldpc :( lol !Low fps on new gaming comp %26gt;%26lt; can any one give friendly advice?:)?
The problem with WoW is blizzards fault. They put in shadows that were ridiculously demanding on your computer. Drop down the shadow detail one notch and you shouldn't have any problems. 30-40 fps on max settings on crysis is good. I don't know about champions online.

You might want to consider getting RivaTuner and setting your graphics card fan to run a little faster to help ease the heat issue.Low fps on new gaming comp %26gt;%26lt; can any one give friendly advice?:)?
When the video card begins to heat up it will automatically throttle back to keep from frying. Get it cooled some how!
Mine

core 2 6750 @ 2.66

4 gig DDR2 (cant remember timings, sorry, 5-5-5-15 pops into mind for some reason)

8800gts 768

Gets better FPS in wow than your computer does. There is something wrong for sure.

Could it just be due to 64 bit windows? And your video card should not be too hot to touch. mine usually kicks between 70 to 75 degrees, well within touchable temperatures.

Vulcan, you're such a douche. thumbing down everyone that say EXACTLY the same thing you do. Everyone thumb that idiot down. Whats worse is his answers usually suck.

edit:

Well, My PC ran Crysis at full 1280 x 1024 at around 25 fps i believe (it was a LONG time ago).

Your case should have more fans blowing out than in. You want to create a negative pressure within the case so that new air is being sucked in at all times. You should still have 1 blowing in though.

edit:

Your components should never reach above 80 degrees. You do not have enough heat displacement somewhere. That or a part is faulty.
The problem definately sounds like a hardware bum, I'd reccomend downloading speedfan to check the speed of your GPU and it definately sounds like your pc is underperforming...I'm not educated enough to help you any further but I wish you the best of luck
Your video card should never be that hot. Unless you're overclocking with a water cooling system. But is a $500-$1k road to take. Anyway, get a new video card that can handle the higher resolution, and higher shader. Upgrade your power supply too. Install some new fans also - it'll help!!! If you want to play, you'll upgrade. (Go with Intel...)
