the best thing you can do is let him no you wanna get series with him. give him little clues that kinda let him no u wanna get series. dont do nothing and hope it all works out cuz then ull end up with a broken heart. the most obvious thing would b to just tell him the worst that could happen is that he doesnt wanna get series. which would be the worst end to all the other things you could do. so u might as go for it.

You cant talk someone into trusting you. trust is something you have to earn. If he for whatever reason has trust issues, just be patient and be the most loyal boyfriend you can be, and eventually he will see that you are a good person who can be trusted.
show him the reasons why you want him and how he is compatible and finds everything in him which you were looking for ,thus these are the reasons you wanna be serious with him in future.
Ask him not to be homophobe.
