Advice for a new quarter at school?

I'm starting my 5th quarter in college tomorrow. My first two quarters went great, but my last two quarters were not all that great. Not only were my grades bad, but I had a hard time managing money, and I gained more weight than I would have liked. It just wasn't a good time all around, and I want to make this quarter better.

So here's what I'm asking: does anyone have any time and/or money management tips, or any tips on keeping healthy in college? Any websites or books you would recommend?

Thanks :DAdvice for a new quarter at school?
I would recommend contacting your university counseling center to see if they do workshops on these topics. Mine did and they were a BIG help!

I also suggest a budget plan: it's a pain in the *** but it really helps you see what you have to work with moneywise- which in turn will keep you from overspending on food. I did that a LOT! Start with your total monthly earnings, take out your bills/payments, and see what you have to live on for the rest of the month. If you're getting financial aid and no other income, you can follow the same process, only for the quarter period/three months.

On the ';mental health'; side, I highly suggest getting involved in a campus group, like the student paper or a club in your department or even outside of it. I joined the exotic animals club because I had ferrets- and I was an English major! We only met once every other week, but it really was a blast just to see people outside my dorm and classes. It helps to have something NON academic to do. College isn't all about sticking your nose in a book. :-)

And while it may seem a bit corny, I LOVE ';Chicken Soup for the College Soul.'; There are some REALLY good ideas and thoughts in that book.

Good luck!
